Lady Spencer House is a purpose built residential care home in the heart of Houghton Regis.  It is situated just opposite Netto's and is easy to get to by local public transport.  There is a car park at the rear for visitors.

We offer a homely, warm and comfortable environment for our residents, and we treat them as individuals maintaining their independence and providing a safe and secure environment which affords our residents respect, dignity and privacy.

We believe that our residents should be stimulated as much as possible, both mentally and physically.  We have a permanent activities coordinator, Faye, who tries to ensure that all residents participate in our daily activities.

We have also commenced a new physical activities program which we believe is the first of it's kind in the area.  A qualified professional physiotherapist will assess each of our residents and will, subject to them being willing and able, tailor a bespoke physical activity program taking account of their health and physical condition.  This will take the form of light exercise with very light weights and possible some walking exercises.

We believe we are taking a lead in this area as we believe that our residents should be stimulated mentally AND physically.  To this end we are in the process of setting up a mini gymnasium within the home so that we can offer an effective activity program.

We also undertake residents trips, with the last one being to Southend which the residents enjoyed very much.
Food is prepared by our resident in-house cook offering varied menus using fresh produce, and catering for all dietary needs.

An indication of the quality of any care home is the working environment and staff satisfaction.  We are extremely proud of our working environment and this is why we have been lucky enough to have such a low level of staff turnover, with most of our staff having been with us for over 5 years.

We also believe in investing in our staff which is why all of our staff are required to go on training programs to ensure that they are up to date with the latest techniques and requirements.
